On Tuesday, it was announced that the hit single created history by entering at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100.
She is the first South African soloist to be nominated in the 55 years since Hugh Masekela’s Grazing in the Grass.
The song is currently ranked ninth on TikTok’s official Viral 50 chart, thanks to her app challenge.
The hashtags #TylaWater and #TylaWaterChallenge have received over 448.6 million views.
With 2.22 MILLION streams, the song has returned to its maximum position of No.37 on the global Spotify chart.
It is still the only song recorded by an African artist in 2023 to receive over 2 million daily global streams.
