NEWS: DJ Peter Mashata has died!
Artists getting murdered in South Africa is increasingly the norm. Over the last few years, the country has lost several of its most important figures to gun violence.
Popular MC and DJ Peter Mashata Mabuse was reportedly shot and died shortly after doing a set at Soshanguve’s Block G. The deejay, who was well-known in Gauteng, was one of the province’s largest event organizers, with numerous of his concerts featuring A-list DJs and producers.
DJ Peter Mashata was reportedly shot near Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve and died a few hours later after being brought to hospital. DJ Mashata and a companion were fatally shot while driving his bakkie.
The DJ’s family has confirmed his death.
The family of DJ Peter Mashata has acknowledged their son’s death and has begged the public to respect their privacy as they mourn. The family has stated that the deejay’s memorial and funeral service will be announced this week.
The statement reads:
Dear Family, Friends and Fans.
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we inform you of the ultimate passing of our beloved son, uncle brother and colleague Mr Peter “Mashata” Mabuse The family is appreciative of all the messages of support and condolences that have started to flow in and humbly request that they be given the space and time to deal with the trauma.
The family representative will keep you posted on both the memorial and funeral service during the week.
